Dr. William Hanna is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist, and a Registered Art Therapist. For the past 10 years, Dr. Hanna managed a successful Psychotherapy Private Practice in Marin County. As a Humanistic Psychologist, Dr. Hanna guided his therapy-clients by refocusing on what makes him or her most human: creativity, agency, free will, intentionality, self-determination, imagination, and values.
Dr. William Hanna received his doctorate degree from California School of Professional Psychology in the San Francisco Bay Area; and worked at UCSF-AIDS Health Project for both his pre- and post-doctoral internships. His first position following his internship was at Bayside Marin as Primary Therapist for the first three years and then promoted to Assistant Clinical Director. Dr. Hanna was then recruited by Alta Mira as Clinical Director in Sausalito, California. He followed this up by becoming Clinical Director at Reflections Recovery Treatment Center for four years in Marin County. Dr. Hanna’s primary responsibility here was making sure that the Clinical Team provides high-quality treatment. He developed and implemented the whole treatment residential program.
Dr. Hanna has advanced training and experience in treating Substance Use Disorders, Co-occurring Disorders, and Relapse Prevention. He placed emphasis on making sure the Reflections Team was cohesive and working towards accomplishing its goals. Furthermore, Dr. Hanna encouraged staff development, team building, and professional growth. It is his belief that a treatment center should be a rewarding and fun place to work, and that stellar treatment can only be accomplished in an atmosphere of love and trust. Dr. William Hanna made it his mission to strive to cultivate a cohesive team of professionals that support each other.
