Founder/CEO

Louise relocated to California in 1994 from Scotland on assignment with Sun Microsystems and enjoyed the work and lifestyle culture and elected to stay. She continued her career in the Hi Tech field holding various management positions within Sun after which she left to join a start up company, Ridge Technologies as Director of Operations which was acquired soon thereafter by Adaptec.

Louise, having always had a passion for real estate development, embarked on a new career as President of her own Real Estate development company developing projects over the next 10 years in San Francisco and Hawaii and continues to be involved in the real estate world.

2008 and 2009 was a traumatic period in Louise’s personal life with much resultant stress and anxiety. Solution focused as always, Louise made the decision to seek professional help and embarked on a two year course of intensive individual therapy addressing previously unaddressed childhood and now recurring traumas. Until this point in her life, her energies had been focused on achieving success in other aspects of her life.

Inspired by her personal growth and change as a result of therapy, Louise decided to explore becoming a therapist and commenced a Master’s in Counseling Psychology program at Dominican University where she was impressed by the skill, intellect and professionalism of the faculty there particularly as it related to the field of recovery. The world of recovery was becoming prominent in all aspects of her life; personally, with friends and at school. She also became intrigued by the extremely high recidivism rate of otherwise successful professionals. What was lacking?

Louise began consulting with Professionals in the field on a school project and quickly they realized that they made a complimentary team sharing similar values and combining their business and clinical skills. Together they realized the need to address the chronic relapse patterns of otherwise professionally successful individuals, many of whom had undergone primary treatment programs (rehab) many times.

Drawing from her personal experiences of the impact of consistent prolonged intense individual therapy together with consulting with Professionals in the field, an industry expert on trauma related substance abuse, Reflections was born. Louise searched for and quickly found the perfect retreat like facility in Northern Marin, a luxury Mediterranean villa with many outstanding features.

Dr. Tim Worden, Ph.D.

Clinical Director, Residential

Dr. Worden has been working as a neurologically-oriented psychologist over the past 25 years. He has been at the forefront of the treatment of addiction, with his nationally recognized workshops, including the Neurophysiology of Addictions & The Six Tasks of Effective Recovery. Additionally, from a brain based perspective, he has developed a unique Cognitive-Experiential psychotherapeutic approach which integrates emotional-motivational factors into the traditional insight and cognitively-oriented psychotherapies. Dr. Worden has utilized this psychotherapeutic approach to rapidly address deep underlying emotional issues common with addictions, particularly guilt & shame, unresolved loss, anxiety from trauma, and relationship issues.

Dr. Worden also has an expertise in combining his psychotherapy with specific stress management and emotional regulation strategies. This has assisted Dr. Worden in his work with other populations including Eating Disorders, Pain Management, and Health & Behavioral Change issues. Dr. Worden has presented workshops throughout the country and abroad, and has co-authored several articles on anger, anxiety and health. He has developed and copyrighted the Life Satisfaction Questionnaire © and the Life Plan© which are geared towards creating a deep sense of life satisfaction. He has two forthcoming books, including The Neuropshysiology of Addiction, (which contains a unique motivation-based relapse prevention plan) and Brain-Based Self-Acceptance Strategies for Addressing Trauma, Guilt and Shame.

Dr. Worden received his doctorate from the University of South Florida and his undergraduate Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His first position following his internship was in a long-term residential substance abuse program at the Palo Alto VA called Satori. He followed this up with working in an outpatient county substance abuse program in Albany Oregon. He has also worked several residential facilities including Milestones Ranch Malibu, and as the Clinical Director of New Seasons Recovery in Ventura CA, and as the Clinical Director at Summit Malibu. He then became the Executive Director of a new 75 bed Eating Disorder and Addictions program in South Florida called Futures of Palm Beach, where Dr. Worden created the program from the ground-up, and including detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and Outpatient programs, serving both the eating disordered and addicted populations.

Dr. Worden also has an expertise in neuropsychology, working as the Clinical Director of an outpatient neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation center called the ESTEEM program in Winter Haven Florida, and as a hospital staff psychologist working primarily in the inpatient rehabilitation program at Winter Haven Hospital. Dr. Worden also has an expertise in Health Psychology, working as a staff psychologist at the Oregon Health & Rehabilitation in Eugene Oregon, and at the Shands Hospital Pain & Anesthesiology Clinic in Gainesville Florida. Most recently he has been a staff health psychologist working in the Family Health Clinic at Travis Air Force Base.

Chad McCain, LMFT

Primary Therapist

Chad has worked for the past 9 years to build a specialization in trauma therapy, and understanding the variables that cause people to heal, cope, and recover from symptoms of trauma. Chad has been working most recently in the psychiatric hospital setting with patients with psychosis and schizophrenia before coming to Reflections. Chad has trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and recently has been employing related concepts of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as learning to implement Dr. Worden’s program based on Self-Acceptance and the Neurophysiology of Addiction to help clients with addiction issues. Chad’s passion is in assisting people to make lasting change, and reach potentials they had no idea they could reach, and so he is passionate about the work we do at Reflections, and hopes to utilize all his current skills and continue to improve and learn more from the opportunities afforded at Reflections.

David France, LMFT, SUDCC

Marriage and Family Therapist

My name is David France but I am not French. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with expertise in dual diagnosis, crisis and suicide, and mental health advocacy. I received my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Sonoma State University and my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley. I have worked in numerous youth and adult clinical settings including; probation, residential, crisis settings, and in private practice. I have had the privilege of working in outpatient clinics in California and in Ireland. My passion is driven as a wounded healer trying to be there for others seeking relief from their suffering. I am informed by my psychodynamic training as well as various forms of CBT with sprinkles of levity to help create a genuine rapport with those I serve. I strive to help those reach whatever goals they may be striving for but mostly to make sure they feel seen and heard. In my role as a Primary Therapist at Reflections, I have received great encouragement and nurturance and I hope each participant that walks thru that door receives the same.

Dr. Laureen Turner Worden, Ph.D.

PHP/IOP Clinical Director

Dr. Laureen Turner Worden brings more than 20 years of experience to her work as a Licensed Psychologist. Dr. Turner Worden’s clinical conceptualizations and interventions have been informed by the works of Leslie Greenberg, Ph.D., who created Emotion Focused Therapy; Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., the creator of DBT; and Bruce Perry, M.D., Ph.D., and Janina Fisher, Ph.D. who are at the forefront of current research and treatment approaches in the field of trauma. Dr. Laureen Turner Worden has participated in Level I and Level II trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy with Les Greenberg, Ph.D.; completed the year-long intensive training process in DBT; and has 2 levels of training in EMDR. Her therapeutic style is interpersonal, experiential, developmental and process oriented, as she strives to meet her clients where they are at, and create in-vivo experiences to foster therapeutic growth and to deepen learning.

Dr. Turner Worden has a sub-specialty in Clinical Supervision, having engaged in research and scientific inquiry related to the training of therapists. Dr. Turner Worden has served as clinical faculty at the University of Oregon, during which time she supervised undergraduate and graduate students, and created an interdisciplinary course entitled “Helping Skills for Non- Counselors”, a course which focused on teaching micro-counseling skills and received rave reviews from students. For many years, Dr. Turner Worden also assumed a leadership role at an APA approved training program, teaching Interns and Post Doctoral Fellows, the art and practice of Psychotherapy.

Prior to joining Reflections, Dr. Turner Worden has worked as a Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor and Primary Therapist in residential settings, hospital settings, outpatient mental health clinics, and private practice. She completed her Internship at Shands Teaching Hospital, University of Florida, Gainesville, with an emphasis on Adult and Child Health Psychology. Dr. Turner Worden received her undergraduate degree from McGill University; a Masters of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida; and a Master of Science Degree and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon. The guiding principle in Dr. Turner Worden’s work is her belief that change occurs in the presence of a positive, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Dr. Deborah Bowman DNP, PhD, NP, CARN-AP, FIAAN

Detox Specialist

Dr. Bowman is an addiction board-certified and fellow nurse practitioner specializing in co-occurring disorders with 30 years of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) experience providing detoxification and medical management at the residential and outpatient level. She provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) including extended release naltrexone, buprenorphine and ketamine assisted therapy. She is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy certified and extensively treats patients with post-traumatic stress disorder and patients on the autism spectrum who are chemically dependent.

Dr. Bowman is a past FIAAN president and presents internationally on SUD and co-occurring disorders. She was educated at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Grand Canyon University and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

John Foord, A-MFT

Primary Therapist

John Foord is a primary therapist for the Reflections Outpatient Programs. John has been working in the field of recovery for over 5 years and possesses a sincere desire to help others. John has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University of California. John’s mission is to facilitate an environment where clients feel safe to open up, be vulnerable, explore themselves, heal and grow. John’s professional experience with addiction combined with modalities such as mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and Family Systems, informs his passion to guide individuals beyond the pain of substance use disorder to live more meaningful and satisfying lives.

Ronald Patrick, M-RAS, SUDCC II

Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor

Ron has been working as a drug and alcohol counselor since 2009 and has been certified in the field since 2011. Ron started working at Reflections in 2017. Ron conducts individual counseling sessions and facilitates didactic groups on recovery. Ron has a passion for helping those who are struggling with addiction by providing education, counseling and experience in the treatment of addictive disorders.

Julee Mutch, CADAC-2, ICADC

Detox Relapse Prevention Specialist

Julee is a seasoned clinician in the addiction and recovery process. She utilizes various modalities including CBT, client centered therapy, strength and solution oriented approaches. Julee firmly maintains the Rogerian principles that all clients are on an innate journey towards healing when their treatment is implemented with unconditional positive regard and compassion. Julee has decades of experience as a counselor in the field of addiction working with diverse populations in prestigious treatment facilities.

Julee’s experience ranges from treating families, teen mothers, as well as in Intensive Outpatient drug court programs. She was one of eight women in 1987 who started one of the first residential treatment facilities that was recognized throughout the nation for introducing therapies to women and their drug afflicted children and families.

With many years of recovery herself, Julee shares a deep understanding of the disease of addiction, relapse and long term recovery—and is contagious with excitement and passion. Her motivational abilities for recovery are valued by her clients and staff alike. Julee brings her positive attitude, hope, loyalty and dedication every day to work, always greeting clients by saying “It’s gonna be a good day, because recovery is now in our DNA!”

Tara Kesecker, LVN

Nursing Director

Tara is Reflections Nursing Director who manages our Detox Specialist department, overseeing the nursing operations for our Detox, & Residential facilities and can also be seen at our PHP and IOP occasionally. Tara is committed to Client advocacy and education. She started with Reflections in 2018 and has been working in the field of addiction medicine since January of 2017. Prior to that, she's worked in the Nursing field since 1995. She is the Mother of 4 and called Brooklyn, NY her home until 1993.

Gregory Holmes

Director of Compliance

Greg’s desire to help people, and insure the best possible treatment stems from his own experience in treatment. Greg has worked in the treatment industry since 2016 where he starting as a Program Assistant. In 2017 Greg graduated with a certificate in substance abuse counseling from the University of the pacific. Greg joined the Reflections team in 2018 where he has had numerous roles, including Extended Care Program Manager, Operations Manager, and currently Director of Compliance. As Director of compliance Greg’s responsibilities is to ensure compliance with all Governing bodies including The Joint Commission as well as other state and local agencies.
