Get Sober at Reflections with Anthem Blue Cross Rehab Coverage

Sobriety is not simple. It is something that you or your loved one will have to work on every day, even after leaving a treatment facility. But the reward of living a life free of controlling substances is worth the hardship.

To get the process started, it is often recommended that clients go through the first step of treatment: detoxification. During a drug and alcohol detox, clients will be medically monitored as they go through the withdrawal process that is known to be uncomfortable and dangerous. After detox, clients can move on to their main inpatient rehab stay in which they will go through a number of evidence-based, holistic, and experiential treatment offerings dependent on their individualized recovery plan.

Following a stay in inpatient, normally at least 30 days, clients can move down to the lower levels of care, including PHP and intensive outpatient programs. During these steps, they will still see addiction experts every day on a regular basis but will be able to go home or to a sober living home at night.

But, as we said earlier, addiction treatment is never complete. That's why it is important to find a recovery center that can offer continuing care programming and alumni support groups to help keep clients engaged and participating in their recovery.

Not only will alumni events help boost your mood and enhance your recovery, they can offer like minded individuals to lean on when needed.

All of these levels of care are available at Reflection’s Northern California rehab.

Blue Distinction Centers

Along with normal BCBS alcohol and drug rehab coverage, Blue Cross Blue Shield started a Blue Distinction Centers (BDC) program that was put in place to “improve patient outcomes and value by addressing the fragmented delivery of substance use disorder treatment.” In order to qualify for the program, treatment facilities must offer one or more of the following levels of care:

  • Residential
  • Inpatient
  • Intensive Outpatient
  • Parietal hospitalization services

In addition to this, all providers must offer programs for opioid use disorder and make medication-assisted treatment available to clients admitted to their program. The BDS program is in place to provide additional treatment information to prospective clients so they can make a more informed decision.

Addictions Covered by Anthem BCBS

The Affordable Care Act required insurance providers to provide support and coverage options to those dealing with substance use disorders. In short, it made these health services essential and ensured that all plans cover the following health benefits:

  • Behavioral health treatment, like counseling
  • Mental and behavioral health inpatient services
  • Substance use disorder treatment

This means that whether you are struggling with a mental health condition, a substance abuse problem, or a dual diagnosis of the two, your health insurance provider is required to provide some support and coverage. This includes for some of the most common drugs of abuse, including:

  • Alcohol addiction
  • Opioid addiction
  • Prescription drug addiction
  • Heroin addiction

Does BCBS Cover Therapy?

As the Affordable Care Act made clear, all health insurance plans must cover behavioral health treatment, this includes things like psychotherapy and counseling sessions. This change was a massive step toward hushing the mental health stigma as it provided support for 1 in 5 Americans who experience a mental illness in a given year.

BCBS & Alcohol Rehab

Alcohol use disorder is a medical condition that leads to social, occupational, and health consequences. The legality and social acceptance of alcohol, leads to many people developing problems without them fully realizing it. In fact, over 14 million U.S. adults have alcohol use disorder.

That’s why we are one of the rehabs that take Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans -- to make affordable alcohol rehab coverage accessible for those that need it.

BCBS & Drug Rehab

Along with the widespread use of alcohol, the Opioid Crisis in the United States has led to numerous substance abuse problems, including tens of thousands of deadly overdoses a year.

And the problem doesn't seem to be going away.

The Opioid Epidemic began in the late 1990s and overdoses and opiate use has only increased during that time frame, with synthetic opioids like fentanyl seeing major spikes in recent years.

If you or a loved one is struggling with opioid use disorder or a separate drug addiction and you're asking, "does BCBS cover drug rehab?" quit hesitating and reach out for help now. Reflections Northern California rehab can help you put drug addiction in your rearview and get your new sober life started today.

Medication-Assisted Treatment
& BCBS Rehab Facilities

Early sobriety is the most vulnerable time when people who are going through recovery relapse. In fact, about half of all alcohol-dependent patients relapse within 3 months of detox. So, how do we curb that number?

One of the more effective ways to reduce relapse rates and help clients deal with uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms is through medication-assisted treatment. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based form of addiction treatment in which FDA-approved medications are used in collaboration with psychotherapies. This is done to help clients taper off their substances while allowing them to focus on recovery.

There are strong misconceptions about MAT, but it is a proven method of addiction treatment and has been shown to have numerous benefits, including:

  • Improve patient survival
  • Increase retention in treatment
  • Decrease illicit opiate use and more

While not everyone qualifies for medication-assisted treatment, it can make a huge difference for those that do.

Call Reflections today to learn more about MAT and how our program can help you according to your United Healthcare plan.

Anthem BCBS and Dual Diagnosis Treatmentes

Dual diagnosis is a term used to describe when a mental health condition and substance abuse problem are co-occurring. Unfortunately, about 50% of people who have a mental health disorder will also have a substance use disorder at some point in their lives.

To overcome these problems they must be treated simultaneously. If you fix one and not the other it will likely only be a temporary solution. To treat addiction in a comprehensive way, all underlying issues must be resolved, this means mental health as well. Some of the most common mental health conditions that co-occur with addiction include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Bipolar disorder

Does BCBS Cover Mental Health?

Blue Cross Blue Shield has initiatives in place to help all those dealing with behavioral health problems get support through psychotherapy and counseling sessions.
